Wants you To KNOW

Lisbon is included in The Last Green Valley National Heritage Corridor with Route 169, a designated National Scenic Highway, running through the west side of town. Many of the Town’s historic buildings, such as the John Bishop House (circa 1837), Burnham Tavern (circa 1755), and Newent Meeting House (circa 1723) are located on this route, with the Anshei Israel Synagogue close by on Route 138. The first railroad tunnel in America (circa 1837) is located in Lisbon. While Lisbon is only sixteen square miles, its recreational and historic sites, bucolic setting, shopping and dining, campgrounds and B & B’s, dairy, fruit and vegetable farms, offer visitors a variety of opportunities to explore, shop, or just relax and enjoy themselves in a quintessential New England small town setting.
