Wants you To KNOW

The Town of Wolcott was founded in 1796 and is named after Governor Oliver Wolcott. Wolcott is a residential community with a land area of 21.6 square miles and a population of approximately 16,200. We are located in northern New Haven County and are a short ride to either Hartford or New Haven. The crown jewel of our community is our beautiful walking trail, "The Mill Pond Way". It is a 3.5-mile multi-use trail that winds around the 330-acre Scovill Reservoir. As one walks the trail and takes the time to observe the surroundings, he/she will have expansive vistas of the reservoir and surrounding hills, experience the activities of the wildlife that abound, and find old stone walls, roads, and foundations that have withstood the testament of time and tell of those who once worked this land.
